Dr. Field uses the latest technology to evaluate your oral health.
Oral Hygiene Advice
Our hygiene appointments are an essential preventative measure to help fight plaque build-up and periodontal disease. During your visit, our caring and experienced team will provide oral hygiene education to help maintain your smile.
With the help of our modern digital x-rays, Dr. Field can identify potential issues affecting your jaw, teeth, and gums. He captures images of the underlying structures to identify problems in their earliest form. With your digital x-rays on-screen, Dr. Field guides you through his diagnosis and recommendations.
Oral Cancer Screenings
Dr. Field examines your oral cavity to help identify early signs of oral cancer. He gently uses the latest dental technology to check for any abnormal lumps, bumps, patches of color, or other lesions. If an abnormality is discovered, we'll work with your medical physician to confirm the diagnosis and establish an ideal treatment plan.
Once Dr. Field has assessed your gum health and checked for any signs of periodontal disease, he will sit down to explain his findings and discuss potential treatments. Your Jacksonville periodontist will then provide specialized care tailored to your needs and designed to achieve superior oral health.
Our professional cleanings are specially designed to help you eliminate all plaque from your teeth and improve your gum’s health. Plus, it’ll leave your smile healthier and more beautiful than ever. During your appointment, our caring team will gently clean your teeth using our modern techniques. Our primary goal is to stop the progression of any gum issues and return your smile to its glorious best.
Scaling & Root Planing
When periodontal disease becomes more severe and spreads below the gum line, it can affect your tooth roots and eventually cause tooth loss. If your condition has reached this point, then we may recommend a treatment called scaling and root planing.
This procedure consists of a deep cleaning above and below your gum line to remove all plaque, tartar, and harmful bacteria to restore the health of your gums.
LANAP Laser Surgery
LANAP…Opens a new window to the LANAP website… (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is a revolutionary state-of-the-art system that makes periodontal treatment more precise and comfortable for you. It is a minimally-invasive alternative to conventional periodontal surgery, which promotes lasting bone and tissue regeneration.
With LANAP laser therapy, Dr. Field offers “no-cut, no-sew” gum surgery that is both gentle and precise. Our lasers are designed to remove all bacteria and infections without harming healthy gum tissue. By replacing the use of scalpels and sutures, LANAP makes surgery less painful, more comfortable, and faster.
Here are some reasons why Dr. Field prefers this innovative and successful protocol for gum disease treatment:
Targets the source of the inflammation without impacting your healthy gum tissue
Allows your body to recover faster
Promotes jawbone regrowth
Less bleeding and swollen gums
Reduces gum recession

Using this laser, our doctor can remove unhealthy gum tissue and shape your gum line with little discomfort and fast recovery time. You’ll be smiling with pride in no time!
Osseous surgery, also known as pocket reduction, is a surgical procedure intended to remove disease-causing bacteria allowing your gum to reattach to your teeth. If left untreated, these pockets (when the gum moves away from the tooth) could become deeper and provide a larger space for bacteria to live in, resulting in the need for an extraction.
Gum recession is one of the most common and noticeable symptoms of severe periodontal disease. Dr. Field can treat this issue using soft tissue grafting to cover damaged tooth roots, reduce gum recession, and protect your roots from decay. During this procedure, our office uses Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment to speed up healing, reduce post-operative discomfort, and enhance both cosmetic and clinical results.
If your sinus walls are very thin, placing dental implants can prove to be an almost impossible task. This is because the bone in the area of your missing teeth begins to shrink over time, meaning there is no room for the implant. If this happens, we’ll perform a sinus lift (using PRP), which involves Dr. Field adding bone to the area around your molars and premolars. This new bone will help hold your implants in place, therefore, restoring your smile and improving your oral health.
Dr. Field has a great practice with state-of-the-art facilities. His procedures have completely turned my problematic teeth and gum issues around. He and his staff are professional, friendly, and helpful! I have made appointments at both offices. Every visit has been awesome!
